As part of its efforts to fulfill the mission statement, The Golden Mile Alliance hosts and sponsors events in the Golden Mile area to help foster and promote a vibrant and safe business and residential community.

MovieOnTheMileThe Movie on the Mile

In 2012, the Alliance hosted two outdoor drive-in style family movie events called The Movie on the Mile.  This event draws hundreds of area residents, not only from the Golden Mile but from the communities throughout Frederick County.  This event is free to the public and is made possible through generous sponsor donations from area businesses, and through fundraising efforts of the Alliance.  We will continue to host this free event in 2013, and hope to continue in the coming years.  This event is organized by the Golden Mile Alliance Promotions Committee

Red Carpet Movie Event

On May 23, 2013, the Golden Mile Alliance held a Red Carpet Movie Fundraising Event at the Holiday Cinemas featuring Roman Holiday with Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn.  Guests enjoyed culinary delights from The Clay Oven, Capital Crave, Lallo’s Pizza, Sisters Bake Shop and The Savory Spoon.  IMG_1084

Business Seminars & Networking Events

As part of our efforts to enhance commercial revitalization and promote business on The Golden Mile, the Business Development Committee hosts Business Seminars and Networking events.

Throughout the year, the Golden Mile Alliance hosts seminars focused on relevant and valuable information for the business community. Through education and training on marketing, social media and other important topics of interest, we hope to support the growth and vitality of the Golden Mile merchants.   The seminars are free, and open to any area business on the Golden Mile and throughout Frederick County.  Topics have included Guerilla Marketing, Print Media, and Social Media.

The Alliance held its first Golden Mile Networking event in April 2013, drawing representatives from area businesses together for an evening of networking, food and fun.

The Business Development Committee hosted the first Property Owners Lunch in March 2012 to inform and educate area property owners on the City’s Golden Mile Small Area Plan initiative.  We plan to host this event on an annual basis to keep our area property owners and managers informed on key developments and initiatives on The Golden Mile.
